What is a zine?

It's short for ‘magazine’, though this is more geared towards indie creatives. They can be either a solo or a collaborative anthology project. Zines can be both for-profit and non-profit, and can be created for a multitude of reasons. In the case of this project, it's similar to doujinshi that are prevalent in the eastern fandoms, although zines =/= doujins.

Are pairings accepted?

Yes, but for canon/vaguely-teased-as-canon NPC pairings only. For writing, any mentions of pairings should be written from the reporter/adventurer's perspective. See this Vana'diel Tribune article about Trion/Curilla for reference.

Are AUs allowed?

For this project, we would prefer to keep things based off from the canon materials and settings, and any OC involvement must be lore-compliant. Please refer to our guidelines to see what we allow/don't allow for your pitches.

I am a traditional artist. Will you be accepting works done in the traditional medium?

Yes, we do accept traditional works, although we recommend to properly scan/photograph your submissions and submit them at 300dpi minimum.

Will contributors receive a copy of the final product?

As this zine will be digital-only, contributors are guaranteed to receive a copy of the zine, including the digital merch.

Will this zine include NSFW and/or ‘problematic’ content?

We would like to emphasize that this project is strictly SAFE FOR WORK/PG-13. While the mods and contributors involved may work/engage with NSFW and/or transgressive content, it has no relevance to the project. We want to make this project a safe space for everyone and we do not tolerate harassment towards these individuals.
